Norwich is very proud to be part of the City Sightseeing network. However, David McMaster of Awayadays who operates the popular Open Top Bus Tour of Norwich has today (11/08/20) announced that the service would not recommence in 2020. The tours which operate seasonally from Easter to October had been put on hold. Now, following consultation with industry colleagues and a full analysis on the impact of Covid-19 and how it might affect both the operational side of running the tour bus, alongside the need to ensure passenger safety; it was deemed that resuming the tours this year would be extremely difficult. David McMaster said “The health and safety of our customers – and our drivers – is paramount and, therefore, we have had to make this difficult decision.
We’ll keep our sights firmly set on Spring 2021 when we hope once again to resume the popular bus tours around Norwich giving both visitors and locals the opportunity to see the wonderful sights of our beautiful mediaeval City.”
